More free memory on Asus Transformer Book T200

Hello,

I have an Asus Transformer Book T200 and I have Windows 8.1 installed on it.
This tablet/computer has 3 storage spaces:
- the internal memory where Windows is installed
- the 32 GB SD card inserted in the tablet
- the 500 GB hard drive in the detachable keyboard

I have almost no available memory where W8.1 is installed, and it's very annoying because even when I install my applications on the hard drive, it consumes memory on the internal memory of the tablet, which fills up very quickly.

My question is whether I can install Windows 10 on the 32 GB SD card and boot the tablet from there instead of booting from the internal memory. This way, I would have about 16 GB free on the SD card (since Win10 takes about 16 GB) after the installation, which would allow me to install as many apps as I want.

Thank you in advance for your help!

Best regards

    Hello,
Yes, it's possible: you need to change the boot order in the BIOS and set the 500 GB hard drive before the 32 GB one. However, you'll need to format everything and reinstall Windows.

I didn't understand everything, but no, installing Windows on the SD card is a bad idea due to transfer speed issues, and it is not made for such intensive use.

      Hello

      This is not possible.
      It doesn't work.
The principle is that if we separate the screen from the keyboard, it continues to work ..

You can always try, but you will need a card with a high transfer speed.

    Hello

You should use the SD card to store your files.
    Disable hibernation.
