Hello everyone,
First of all, I want to apologize if another thread has been opened on this topic. I noticed that other users have also encountered this problem and some of them opted for a complete restoration and a full reinstallation of Windows.
Unfortunately, I cannot afford to do the same. Indeed, I have important projects for a client and I absolutely need to be able to use my Asus A550C i7357U laptop, 4GB RAM, 64 bits - equipped with a Samsung 840Pro SSD - 256GB, running Windows 8.0
The problem is that without any activity, the memory reaches a highly absurd value,

and I’m not even talking about the value it reaches when I launch my 3D modeling software such as Solidworks and Blender.
I have consulted several pages regarding the subject, I applied the protocol regarding the memory allocated by Windows in System Properties / Advanced settings / Performance / Advanced / Change / Virtual Memory --> I unchecked the automatic management of page files; but nothing has changed.

After several unsuccessful searches, I am ultimately turning to you, IT community expert, to enlighten me on what can help me optimize the memory.
Thank you in advance and sorry for all this reading.

If you read English you should read this
https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/archive/blogs/
You will understand that Windows 8 can keep processes in your PC's RAM for two reasons: a much faster loading of applications and secondly to avoid stressing the processor and thus save your battery, especially if you are using a tablet or a laptop. The result is that there is indeed an increase in RAM. But conversely, it will release RAM more easily on low-memory devices
In my opinion, stop worrying about RAM, Windows manages it automatically, there’s nothing unusual on your PC

Hello,
If you want to optimize your memory, there is Wise Memory Optimiser: https://www.clubic.com/telecharger-fiche430421-wise-memory-optimizer.html
I hope this answers your question.

I installed Wise Memory Optimizer, but it hasn't greatly optimized the memory :(
The simplicity of the interface leaves me a bit skeptical about the effectiveness of the software...
Thank you for the quick response :), but the problem persists :(

Sure, for efficiency, I can assure you it works, even with a simplistic interface. What are the processes that take up the most memory?
Best regards

That's exactly the problem, I have no idea which programs or services or others are taking up memory without any apparent reason. The processes present in the task manager that are running when I'm not doing anything are as follows:

Sorry, it took a little while to update the various drivers and after that, I didn't gain much in terms of memory. As you can see, the memory is strangely utilized for reasons I don't know.

Install Process Explorer, I will guide you:

I don't see where you found these two options; just click on
Properties and then open the Services tab.
Properties and then open the Services tab.
This process is completely normal, check if the phenomenon occurs in
safe mode as well, to enable the F8 key under Windows 8, W8.1, do the following:
Press the Windows and X keys
Click on Command Prompt (admin)
Then in the command prompt window, type or copy/paste this text:
bcdedit /set {default} bootmenupolicy legacy
Then simply tap the F8 key as soon as the PC starts
And later to return to the previous state, type or copy/paste this text:
bcdedit /set {default} bootmenupolicy standard

Hello
The memory usage doesn't seem abnormal to me.
Windows tends to "spread out" in memory when it can.
We would need a capture like the second one at the beginning of the post (http://imageshack.com/a/img839/2835/6e17.png)
but by clicking on memory, on the left.
Is there a dedicated video card in this PC?
Or is it shared memory??

I restarted my laptop in safe mode, and apparently, I don't have this memory overusage problem.

As for whether there is a video card with dedicated memory in this PC?
or is it shared memory??
... I have no idea! How do you proceed to identify the nature of the memory (video/shared)?

Hello.
We don't know what paged memory has to do with it; what you need to know is
that in safe mode, no programs located in startup are launched.
If you have Ccleaner, run it, then Tools -> Startup, start by disabling everything except the antivirus to see, then restart.
