Transfer my SD card photos to my PC ????

Hello everyone.

I just bought a desktop PC (tower) ACER TC-705.

I'm having a hard time getting used to Windows 10 (I used to have Vista on an HP).
With Vista, I would insert my SONY SD photo memory card into the slot and the reading and transfer would happen automatically.
As of today, I'm on my second day of trying and NOTHING.
I've searched the web, found forums, looked for driver downloads, but I don't know what to choose. And from what I've read, I'm not the only one struggling.
What's the problem, and where's the solution??

    Hello,

Win10 behaves exactly like Vista for this kind of thing :) The feature you are looking for is called "auto-play."

    To configure it:
    1. open the W10 settings (click on the speech bubble icon at the far right of the taskbar, near the clock - it will display the notification center, click on "settings"

    2. Click on "devices"
    3. Click on "auto-play"
    4. Enable auto-play
    5. Choose what you want to happen when you insert your SD card into the computer (see screenshot below)

I may open the notification center, but I don't see "device" and therefore I don't know how to click on it! I have to go into file explorer to be able to read the SD card. The photos appear in the Windows 10 photo app... or, when you edit a photo (crop), it seems impossible (if you save it) to retrieve the original!!! (the whole photo) Anyway! Pfffffff... Thank you for helping me.
