VirtualBox graphics card driver issues

Hello everyone,

Yesterday, I installed VirtualBox on my MacBook Pro, no problems during the installation, I chose Windows 7 32 bit.
I don't know much about drivers and I think none were updated after the installation of Windows 7. I realized this when trying to launch games/applications.
However, I installed Direct X 9, and it seems like there are fewer problems but I still get a message like this:

Description:
No valid Direct3D render context could be created.
Either some drivers are missing or your graphics hardware is too old to run this application.
Sometimes screensaver, lock screen, or system-hibernation cause this message.

Minimum system requirement is:
DirectX 9 graphics card with at least 'pixel shader 3.0' support and 256MB graphics memory.
DirectX 9c driver (or newer) must be installed (run "dxdiag.exe" to check if it works)
Graphics drivers (NVidia, ATI, IntelHD,...) must be installed and 'up-to-date'.

Additionally, you can try the following:
- Change the display mode to 32bit (true color) and at least 1024x768 60Hz.
- Check that the 'Hardware acceleration' setting in
DisplayProperties/Advanced/Troubleshoot is set to 'Full'.

What is in italics has already been checked and everything is in order.

Location:
Settings_Init
Function:
ApplyPipeDefaults

I also sometimes get messages indicating that the graphics card version is outdated.

Standard VGA Graphics Adapter Identification: PCI\VEN_80EE&DEV_BEEF&SUBSYS_00000000&REV_00
Driver Version: 6.1.7600.16385

What can I do to remedy this? Thanks in advance!

Hey

1 - Did you install the extension pack corresponding to your version of VirtualBox?

2 - Once W7 was installed and started, did you install the Guest Additions?

Alright, I'll download the extension pack then.

As I told you, it's in the (Devices) menu of VirtualBox, once the virtual machine is running.

Yes, I had misread it; I thought it was a right-click on the small file we see ;)
