Hello everyone!
First post on this forum, I hope to find my answers here.
1. I have an SFR Numericable Box with an HDMI output
2. I also have an Xbox 360 with an HDMI output
3. I have connected a NAS to this box containing ripped DVDs
4. Finally, I have a Chromecast (also HDMI) to stream the content from my NAS via the Plex app
I want to connect all these devices to a projector (ideally with 2 HDMI inputs so I don't have to plug/unplug the sources every time)
The question then arises about sound:
A. Should I connect speakers directly to the projector (which means sound comes from the sources to the projector and then out through the speakers)
B. Or should these speakers be connected directly to the sources, and if so, how?
C. Finally, do you know a way to send sound via Bluetooth (or Wi-Fi) to wireless speakers?
Thank you!
Emmanuel

Hello,
Yes, it is possible to connect everything to a video projector, as long as it has multiple HDMI inputs.
You will need to connect the speakers directly to the video projector; otherwise, I don't see how you will connect the speakers to all the devices or even disconnect/reconnect them each time for different sources.
It's the same on my television, the HDMI carries the sound to the TV, but the speakers are directly connected to the TV, so the sound comes out of the speakers regardless of the device being watched (decoder, recorder/DVD player, cable box, Android box, console).
Regarding Bluetooth speakers, it works as long as the source is Bluetooth-compatible and has the necessary audio profile. Personally, I have never tried it.

but we lose the digital sound via HDMI, we will have stereo analog => loss of quality but fewer cables too...
