Hello,

I have an issue, my PC is unable to recognize the various USB storage devices I plug in... For example, when I connect my 500GB external hard drive, nothing happens, even though it was previously recognized by my PC and I haven't made any recent changes. When I connect the same hard drive to another PC, it works perfectly. Does anyone have a solution to propose? Thank you in advance.

Config: ASUS SonicMaster I5 6GB RAM, Windows 8.
External hard drive Toshiba STOR.E Slim silver 3.0 500GB

Hello,
Problem finally resolved!
The drivers were actually not in the right folder, here's the process of what I did:
- I went to Windows/System32/DriverStore/FileRepository, and I searched for the folder usbstor.inf, copied its contents (namely 3 files: usbstor, usbstor.PNF, and USBSTOR.SYS) and pasted them into:
C/Windows/Inf

Then in the Windows Device Manager, I right-clicked on my hard drive, selected "update driver," "browse my computer," in the folder C/Windows, and by accepting the subfolders, the drivers finally updated... Miracle! Everything is working again and I can once again use my storage devices.

Thank you nonetheless for your help!!

Good evening,

Please attach a photo (screenshot) of your "disk manager" with this disk connected to your PC.

-- You do: Windows key - R and type diskmgmt.msc your disks will display.. stretch the frame to show everything.. capture that screen and upload it to the site cjoint.com and paste the link here.

I have a problem with my TOSHIBA PC Intel inside, even external hard drives. I have reinstalled it to the point of exhaustion and I have even installed drivers but it still doesn't work! However, when I plug in external mice, they work fine, I don't understand!

OK,

Great capture. It seems like the disk wasn't plugged in...?? In any case, we can't see anything at all.

Try all the USB ports... because you might have one that's broken. Plug a USB stick into it to see if it's recognized..?? on the same port.

It's apparently a USB3, maybe the USB3 drivers are missing on this PC.? Check the ASUS website.

The disk is indeed plugged in... I've also tried all the other USB ports, even the 2.0 ones, and still nothing!

All my drivers are up to date though, I've checked several times...
