Can the "old" TNT decoders still be useful?

Hello,
Is there any use for the old decoder (non-HD) or should it be thrown away?
I should mention that I'm not very good with "all this tech stuff," and if the decoder can still be useful for anything, a clearly drawn diagram would be very helpful.
Thank you for your help and advice.
Configuration: Windows XP / Firefox 45.0

Hello
unfortunately no
unlike old VCRs that still allow you to play old video tapes; a decoder only serves to decode terrestrial signals
the old one decoded the signals in SD which used to be analog
but there are no more SD signals since now it's all in HD
so only an HD decoder will be useful to you

(see specialized TV forums...)
So an MPEG-2 decoder at best can serve as a wedge (lol)
