So you could give more details, but I'm going to assume that it's stuck, especially don't do like the idiots and blow into your controller, firstly because your button will get stuck again two minutes later, but also because it oxidizes the inside. Try using a cotton swab or something to drop a drop (a little less actually) of 90° alcohol into the gap of the button; that should unstick it and remove anything that might be blocking it (dust, oxidation).
If you've just destroyed your button by mashing it like a bull, it seems there isn't much solution unless you open the controller to replace the soft plastic that pushes the button back up.
(Try the trick above before concluding that your controller is dead; you never know.)
