Remove the dots as thousands separators Solved

Hello,

I would like to know if there is a way to remove "dots" used as thousands separators all at once.
I have a bunch of numbers with which I need to perform calculations in Excel, but the problem is that these numbers are like "299.970.000
2.389.930.041
15.000.000.000
500.000.000
500.000.000
500.000.000" with dots as separators, and it is really tedious to remove them one by one before doing my calculations.
I need a solution if there is one, please

Do you have decimal numbers? with a point instead of a comma, like this: 596.321.24

If there are no decimal numbers, try
> Ctrl+H,
> replace: . (point)
> with: leave blank
> click on Replace all...

Hello

Three options depending on your situation

Either the issue comes from the formatting of the cells that retains the numerical value
Select the field / right-click on the cell .£/ format and check if the format is "number", uncheck "use thousand separator"

Or the issue comes from the formatting of your Excel and in that case, the numerical value of the numbers is not modified either
To remove this formatting
_either click on the Microsoft logo at the top left (Excel 2007) or the file icon (after 2007)
_in the displayed window, at the bottom: "Excel options"
_on the left "advanced options"
_and in the list, first paragraph, either check "use system separators" or clear the point in the thousand separator box

If, on the other hand, your values are texts (not usable in calculations)
__select the field to be processed
__press ctrl and h
__in the top window, type a point
__in the bottom box, don’t put anything and
__"replace all"
It is possible that after this operation, your numbers remain in text, then:
__format your cells as general
__copy an empty cell
__select the field to be processed
__right-click paste special and check "addition"

I think that in your regional settings the thousands separator is the period

control panel/Region and Language/format tab/additional settings/Number tab/digit grouping symbol, if there is a period replace it with a space
