How to download to an external hard drive

you probably mean 320 GB

anyway, to answer your question, in your external hard drive you create a folder, then right-click on that folder/create a shortcut and place your shortcut in documents
from that shortcut, you'll be able to create other folders or save files that will automatically be saved to your external hard drive

when you unzip a download, Windows asks you where you want to install it. It's true that with experience, we don't always read the fine print; we just point to the hard drive, which requires it to be permanently connected, and for a laptop, that's not ideal because files will be installed in the program files, etc.
If the internal drive really has too little capacity, it’s better to change it.
The tip I suggested in my first post is rather meant to store user files.

it's an ACER computer that I bought at Darty and since I don't know anything about it I hadn't noticed that it didn't have any memory capacity

Anyway, you need to change the download folder path, which implies that the hard drive (or USB stick) where the folder will be located must be plugged in when Windows is running.
