Hello,

I’m facing the same problem: https://forums.commentcamarche.net/forum/affich-6551396-contrainte-taille-cellule-dans-tabelau-word

I tried the proposed solutions, but my column is stuck at 0.15".
Isn’t there a way to force a width to (for example) 0.05"?

Thank you!

Configuration: Windows 7 / Chrome 48.0.2564.116

    Hello again :)

So 0.05 cm equals 1/2 millimeter and... that’s really small.

That said, Word accepts it. However, while I did set 0.05 for both height and width, I don’t get square cells, which leads me to think the minimum width would be more like 0.1 cm.

To achieve this result, you need to set the rest to 0: cell margins, indents, spacing before and after the paragraph format.

I’m not sure what that could be used for... It’s tiny!

I work in inches, not cm. So 0.05" = 0.05 inches = 1.3 mm. But it could as well be 0.1", but I’m stuck at 0.15", even with Arial Narrow font at 4 pt, margins and spacings at 0 and indents at -0.08...
I have no idea what else to do.
The goal is to create a borderless space between two cells. There would be no data in the 1-2 mm cell (aside perhaps a hyphen). Only bottom borders for the cells on each side. This is for a paper form (printed and filled out with a pencil).
(I am currently on my cell, I can’t test anything, I’m replying from memory with the information I remember...)
P.S. If I really wanted to make this liliputian table, I would create a single cell with a grid pattern!

        There are other solutions:
        - Draw double borders
        - Draw very thick borders, and play with their color
        - Play with the cell margins, right and left
        ...

If it's only to have spacing between (all) the cells of the table, just choose the option "Allow spacing between cells"!

Thank you, m@arina, but I just tried that and it gives me spacing all over... and I can't insert my hyphen.
The strangest thing is that I copied and pasted the problematic table into a new document, just to send it to you without all the other useless pages, and this time it works!
So there is something in the original document that’s wrong. Yet, it’s an independent table, 8 columns by 2 rows.
Anyway, it doesn’t matter, I managed...

      Thank you for your help!!!
