Powering on a PC via the power supply

Hello,

I’m looking for a way to turn on my PC from anywhere. The most often mentioned solution is Wake on LAN, but that’s impossible due to the distance between my tower and my router (PC connected with a Wi-Fi antenna, no Ethernet cable).

So far, I was plugging my power supply into a Wi-Fi socket (like Neo Chacon), and the "Restore AC on power loss" feature in my BIOS did its job as soon as the socket turned on. But since I upgraded to Windows 10 (after reformatting my PC), that doesn’t work anymore. When I turn on the socket, the PC doesn’t detect that the power has returned.

Do you have any ideas on how to solve this problem? Or an alternative solution to suggest?

Thank you in advance.

    Solution found:

I discovered what was preventing the "restore on power loss" function of the BIOS from working: simply the "fast startup" mode of Windows 10. Once disabled, I was able to turn my PC back on using the Wi-Fi connected outlet.

For those in the same situation as me, you need to go to "Control Panel," "Power Options," "Choose what the power button does," "Change settings that are currently unavailable," and finally uncheck "Turn on fast startup (recommended)."
