Hello, for some time now, every time I start a new Photoshop CS3 project and try to insert text, the following error message appears: Unable to perform this operation because the text engine could not be initialized.

I hope you can help me.
Configuration: Windows XP Firefox 2.0.0.5

I had the same problem, I went to c:\Users\username\AppData\Local\Adobe (to make the AppData folder appear, organize -> folder and search options -> view tab -> check the box: show hidden files, folders, and drives).

Once in this folder, search for ".lst" and delete all the adobefnt11.lst files

Restart Photoshop and there you go, no more problems ;)

Great! I had the same problem with Photoshop CS6 and it worked.
      That's awesome!
      Thank you very much.

I have the same problem, but I recommend reinstalling it. If you have other solutions, let me know.

At my place, restarting the computer was enough for it to work again :)

Same, try restarting your PC; it’s likely that it will work again.
