Hello,
I bought an Asus laptop just 2 weeks ago, and it's behaving rather strangely...
Let me explain, the power button works 2 times out of 4. The other 2 times, for it to work, the laptop has to be plugged in (even though it has battery). Is this a safety feature or something like that, or is it a malfunction? It's hard to tell because it sometimes works without being plugged in...

Hi,
Shouldn't you take advantage of the warranty?

I plan to do this, but I saw on the Asus website a mode called "shipping mode" that makes the PC only turn on while plugged in to prevent it from turning on during transport. Apparently, this mode is disabled at the first power-up, so if I can find a way to disable it, it might save me a trip back to the area where I bought it? :/

My ASUS computer did not turn on when I tried to use it for the first time. But the computer turns on after I plug in the power adapter that is included in the box with the computer. Is this situation normal?
ASUS has a new energy-saving feature - the Shipping Mode which is activated during transport. This prevents energy loss and protects the battery before first use.
Please use the power adapter included in the computer's box before turning it on for the first time. Please note that your computer will not turn on the first time using only the battery. The Shipping Mode will be disabled after you have turned on the computer. Then your computer will operate normally.

Hi,
since it sometimes works without being plugged in, I conclude that there is still a problem.
