Desktop without battery = weak CMOS battery

Hello,

As soon as I plug my TOSHIBA Satellite laptop into the mains by removing the main battery, a message appears when I turn on the PC: RTC battery is low.
I then have to close the "bios" page and I can use the computer normally.
(Although the clock is not correct and I need to update it)

This issue only happens when I turn off my computer and unplug it from the mains.

What can I do to stop seeing this message?

PS: I would like to clarify that I do not have this issue when the main battery is present (whether on mains or not).

PS2: I don't think the problem really comes from the "RTC battery," since even less than 3 months after purchasing it, I had already encountered this message when I wanted to use it without the battery...

Thank you in advance.

    Hello

If your PC is new, it would be preferable to use your warranty with your retailer before doing anything that could cause further damage to your equipment.

    Best regards

Computing is just a tool, like a brush or a pencil.
Avoid these so-called free repair software, etc. They are not of major use. The best companions are Dos and Powershell..

      Hello,

      Thank you for your response.

It should now be about 1 year old or a little more...
Do you think that a BIOS update can solve the problem?

        Re
I think there is a battery (RTC) issue if you have to update the BIOS date and time every day; that's where the problem would come from.
Is your battery charging well, by the way? Leave it charging for a day.

        Hello,

Yes, the problem only occurs when I don't put in the "removable" battery.
When I put in the removable battery, everything works fine.

In fact, the date and time upon opening are the ones from when I turned off my computer and unplugged it.
(If I turn it off but leave the laptop plugged in, I don't have any date/time issues when I turn it back on.)
