Hello,

I have a workbook that contains 3 sheets.

The last sheet contains the pivot table (copied from another workbook).
I then enhanced this pivot table.

Now I have a problem, this message (that you see) informing that it is impossible to open the source file.

I don’t understand this impossibility. This sheet is no longer linked to its original workbook.

If anyone can help me understand and resolve this issue.

Thank you

Hello

your copy-paste probably created links with the original file of the pivot table
I don't know 2007 but there is in the data tab of 2007 a section "connections" with a line "edit links" that allows you to remove links with external files

best regards

Hi Vaucluse.

I'm looking to see if I can find something like that.

So if you're still there, here's what I did.

I've been fiddling around a bit, but I can't see at all what connects this sheet to the other workbook (which I actually deleted).

What I did. I recreated a pivot table AND NOT a pivot chart, which I positioned in the same place as the previous one (under the chart that I kept).

So you can still use the screenshot that hasn't changed.

So my question now.

Is it possible to link the data from the pivot table to the chart that you see in the screenshot?

It would save me from having to recreate a complete pivot chart.

I've found Vaucluse.

I'll explain the process in case someone is interested.
I want to clarify that the Pivot Table and the chart (at the beginning) are not linked at all.

So, I select the chart, the "PivotChart Tools" toolbar appears.
In the "Data" tab, click on "Select Data". And when the window appears, click "OK".
And from then on, the chart and the Pivot Table are linked.

This process worked for me.

See you later Vaucluse, thanks
