32-bit programs on Windows 10 64-bit

Hello,

I have Windows 10 64-bit on my computer, but half of my programs are launching in 32-bit, which means they're less efficient, especially the games. I can see this in the task manager.
Microsoft support tells me to reinstall Windows 10, but I'm hoping to find a simpler solution before trying that.
Chrome had this issue, but I managed to install only the 64-bit version and now it works perfectly.
I've searched everywhere and the only answers I get are "it's not a big deal, it works in 32-bit," but that's not always the case :-/

I have an Acer V Nitro:
intel core i5-5200 2.2 GHz
nvidia geForce GTX 850 M / intel HD graphics 5500

Configuration: Windows / Chrome 47.0.2526.58

Hello

"but half of my programs run in 32 bits, and are therefore less efficient, especially the games" <= that's totally false.

Just because you have a 64-bit OS doesn't mean that all the software is compiled in 64 bits. 32-bit applications on a 64-bit OS are not less efficient; that’s a misconception.

Since I switched to Windows 10, all of my programs have switched to 32 bits. Since then, it takes me between 15 and 30 minutes to write a message as long as this one. And even three quarters of my programs don't launch anymore. If this is false, why does it bug so much?

Except that this has *nothing* to do with whether they are 32Bits or not.

It could be related to a compatibility issue or erroneous paths in the registry... That's the susceptibility of Windows :o)

Moreover, 32bits is just a type of instructions, which 64bits can read perfectly well... Since it's the number of bits in the instruction that is important here, 32 fits perfectly within 64... it doesn't cause any problems.
