Hello everyone,

I need your help!!!! Let me explain my problem hoping to be clear in my explanations (because in addition to having a problem with my DELL computer, I'm not good at computers!)
It all started last summer in July when my computer offered to install Windows 10 instead of my Windows 7… Of course, I accepted and I was very happy with the result and the new look at first!! Then, the problems started, a month later, like many people, BUG: “CRITICAL ERROR: the Start menu and Cortana are not working anymore…” LONG STORY SHORT, I read several forums, and after several hours, I managed to unblock my computer!
NEW BUG on 31/10, I think after the automatic update of my computer, the same message: “CRITICAL ERROR: the Start menu and Cortana are not working anymore…” I thought, that's fine, I know how to fix it! But then, the issue was: nothing from what the forums explained worked! So, I had to reset my PC with the “keep my files” option… great, it's working!!!! However, it deleted all my applications: my Office pack and many other softwares… How can I retrieve them? According to the forums, it's hopeless… I tried to restore the computer to before 31/10/2015 but there are no other dates… I tried to restore my Windows 7 but the 30-day deadline has passed (the only solution: find my CD in the boxes!)… In short, I’m really afraid of having lost everything… How can I get my PC and those applications back? Actually, how can I make my PC return to how it was before that infamous bug of 31/10/2015 and my reset manipulation?
Thank you in advance for reading and for your help, if there is a solution!

Hello,
If you have done a reset, there are no more applications. However, you can look in C:\Program Files and copy the various folders that interest you and save data.
If you have a Win 7 CD and you're having a lot of issues with Win 10, you can go back to Win 7, that's up to you to decide.

Hello,
thank you very much for the info and the information! I think I'm going to find my old CD to downgrade to Windows 7 because I didn't have any issues before.
Thank you.
