I just got home, I turn on my decoder but no image appears. The decoder works correctly, but no image is displayed. I tried unplugging it... no effect.
When I turn on my TV and the decoder, the screen stays black, and only the time is displayed on the decoder..
Is this a problem on Orange's side? Or a technical issue?

Hi Littleboy,
My problem has finally been solved. We were fed up with not having Orange TV, so we called Orange customer service. They told us to disconnect everything and reconnect it all. But it still didn't work. So they remotely reset it. And that still didn't work either. We were starting to lose hope. Then they told us to change the scart cable, but nothing happened. So they tried to remotely reset it again. And after the third time, it finally worked. Since then, we haven't had any problems. So call them, they might be able to help you. Don't worry, it won't cost you anything because they called us back on the mobile.

Yes, I did as you told me, I called customer support, it didn't work the first time but like you, they did a remote reset and then boom, I got to the menu where I had to enter my ID code (received in a letter when I made my purchase) and then boom, it worked! :)
However, they didn’t call me back on my mobile, lol
Tonight I'll be able to watch my series in peace :D
In fact, my decoder is properly connected, the internet works perfectly, there are no problems with the SCART cable, the decoder is working and I can hear the sounds from the channels. The only big problem is that I have no picture.
I read above that there were some solutions: I tried Eric's, but I can't access the options because I can't see anything... I tried Peter's solution of turning off my live box and the decoder, but still nothing. I also tried Bertrand's method of pressing the on/off button for 5 seconds... but nothing.
The problem occurred today... I haven't called Orange because I read that the process is lengthy, so if I call, it will cost me a lot, very much. Especially since Orange are specialists at responding, "it won't last long" when we ask them the question, "can you call me back?". I won't hide the fact that I'm planning to leave Orange soon to switch to another provider.
Anyway, I would like to find a solution that doesn’t involve calling Orange.
Same problem with the ihd91 decoder, no picture... Tried resetting the decoder, no effect... unplugged the decoder, no effect... unplugged the livebox, no effect... Please help :(
Hello, On the Sagem decoder, there are 2 buttons on the front (TV logo - and +), long press on the TV logo -. An assistance menu will appear, select at the bottom of the menu -> reset. The decoder will restart and your image problem will be resolved. A+
Lol, I'm also well connected to the Livebox, I have a good reception, but I can only see 2 channels, Arte and Channel 13, tough luck. I've read your comments, but there's no answer to this problem, it's frustrating. Hoping someone has a solution...
Hi everyone, for those who, like me, have had the black screen problem! Turn off the decoder, press the power button for 5 seconds while restarting it. And there you go, theoretically it should work again.

Don't dream! It's not Christmas... I've had no phone since April 2010 and now the decoder shows --;-- It's a shame that customer service doesn't exist at Orange. When you say you're willing to pay for a technician's visit, they don't know anything. One wonders if we're on the same planet. Strange policy at ORANGE... ads, ads))))))))))

I'm good, thank you very much!!!

Thank you very much! It worked! After 2 hours without TV, plugging and unplugging, finally a solution!
This evening at 8:30 PM I was on channel 1, I wanted to change the channel and nothing; my remote control doesn't want to cooperate!!!! I changed the batteries and still nothing???? What should I do???? Thank you
I had exactly the same issue... and it lasted for two days... I tried every possible workaround... and still nothing. In fact, the problem came from a simple extension cord that was plugged into the electrical network... shared with the electrical network... where the TV decoder and the TV are connected. This extension cord... must have been creating interference... or upsetting the electrical network... and the decoder couldn't do its job anymore... the faulty extension was removed from the network... in the living room... and since then everything works. So it wasn't a problem at all... with the decoder or the liveBox...
me too ... but the problem only concerns France 2! all the other channels are working normally. The banner appears, but I only have a black screen. And the TNT tuner, instead of displaying "tv", it shows "--:--" The time it displays is completely ridiculous (it tells me it's 10:47 PM while it's the middle of the afternoon) I keep resetting, unplugging, and replugging the Livebox and the decoder, but nothing works ... Of course, the 3900 is always busy, the support on orange.fr has no answer for me, and at the France Telecom store, they send me away saying that they are sellers, not technicians ... help me!!! I'm sooooooooooo tired ...

Hello, I work at Orange myself, and I can assure you that we have no software for testing the line or even the internet or TV.

Good evening. I just read your post on this forum and I see that since the launch of the “white” Orange decoder (for me since November 2008), the dissatisfaction is widespread. I do not doubt the good intentions of the staff at 3900, but the result of my 19 calls (from 05/11/08 to the last one on 12/03/09) has been completely negative to date, including the super technicians at the +++ levels. I stopped calling since 12/03/09, when the +++ technician told me that the “white” Samsung decoder does not work. The problem affects all Orange TV customers via satellite, and negotiations are underway for the supply of a new decoder from another manufacturer, due by mid-2009. This technician even advised me, in the meantime, to get a low-cost TNT satellite decoder from a large retailer, but that would incur additional costs, including the purchase of the decoder plus 2 antenna realignments (from Hotbird to Astra, then back). And ultimately, why stay with Orange, which is more expensive than other ISPs? Two questions arise: - Are these negotiations for the supply of a new decoder from another manufacturer (real?) conclusive? - When will customers be supplied, in the hope of ending their ordeal? Thank you for any credible information.

I also have the issue, I canceled Orange TV directly, because the idiots on the phone were careful not to mention that you need a multi-satellite dish to receive all the channels.

I have exactly the same problem as you, all the channels except France 2 (and it's obviously the only channel that interests me)... Did you manage to fix that? Thanks Boris
Well, a few months later, the problems with Orange are still the same! Perfect connection between the Livebox and the PC, but nothing with the TV, which worked fine before but now won't connect: the little sun keeps spinning for hours... helpppppp!

Hi, I have the same problem, I can connect to the internet with the computer, I can watch catch-up programs and on-demand videos on the decoder, but other than that, I haven't received any channels for almost 3 weeks. It's annoying. It's a completely black screen. I've done all the things they say to do in case of malfunction, but nothing changes, it’s always the same. Does your remote control only work with the "Standby", "Menu", and "Guide" buttons? Because that's the case for me. When I try to switch to a channel, nothing happens, the little green light just comes on, letting me know that it recognizes the remote control but that's all. No numbers are displayed. So since I see that your problem dates back more than a year, could you tell me if you managed to solve this problem, and if so, how did you do it? Thank you very much. Oh, by the way, I have a Sagem decoder.

I had to call support, I did as they said and they did a remote reset for me, and since then it works again.
Hello I have a problem since Sunday, September 8, 2008, and to this day the Orange customer service has been rather silent. I spoke to 10 representatives, including one on Sunday with whom I stayed on the phone for 2 hours who ended up telling me that an "expert" would contact me the next day........... nobody contacted me, so I called again and spoke to the expert who told me that I was probably disconnected from the network, that it would work in 24 hours, and two days later still nothing. I am sending a registered letter to the only name I have on one of the Orange letters and we will see what happens next. Thank you for telling me how you resolved your issues.
However, they didn’t call me back on my mobile, lol
Tonight I'll be able to watch my series in peace :D
