Hello,
I have a recently purchased computer that runs Linux, and on it I have a Windows XP virtual machine running thanks to VirtualBox.
When I am on this virtual machine and I try to download files (with Firefox or Explorer) or install applications that require a download, the speed is extremely slow (does not exceed 80 kb/s), while on the host machine, also with an Ethernet cable, I can reach up to 1 Mb/s.
What’s even stranger is that with Steam installed on the virtual machine, I can download games at a speed of 1 Mb/s.
How could I fix this problem and increase the download speed of the virtual machine? Maybe by tinkering with the VirtualBox configuration?
Thanks in advance for your responses.

Hello, how did you configure the network in VirtualBox for the Debian client?
Network adapter / advanced settings to ensure you are using para-virtualized networking (virtio-net), otherwise VirtualBox will emulate the hardware
