Inactive Printer on MacBook Pro

Question

Hello,
I bought an Epson XP 225 series printer. I was able to set it up without any issues on my MacBook Pro, using Wi-Fi, and I was printing without problems until two months ago.
Now, it doesn't print anymore for no reason.
When I press the "print" button, it says "printing in progress," but then I get an "error" message and nothing gets printed... nor does it scan...
I have downloaded all the necessary software and updates, but nothing works. I uninstalled and reinstalled the printer, with no results.
I should note that the photocopy function works well, and it also works fine with my Android phone.
Can you help me and tell me what to do?

and what exactly does the error message say?

It looks like a print job directed to an offline printer.
Has the printer name changed?
You should check in System Preferences / Printers that the correct printer is selected, and then when initiating the print job, ensure that the printer choice is the right one.

No yellow triangle? ... Which version of OS X is the Mac running?

And on the printer itself, any message? Even with a right-click on the little black circle?

Sorry, I can't take a screenshot.
However, should I mention that on the "printers and scanners" page, the name of the printer is indeed there, but the "location" field is empty… Is that normal?
The link to the manual on page 88 doesn't work…

I tested on Mac OS X 10.7, in reality there is no difference between 10.7 and 10.11. They are the same windows..

If the location line is empty, it means the printer is not recognized, but why? I don't see it here. If all the drivers are installed, the cable is in good condition, the USB port is operational... by the way, you should test the USB port with another device...

OK, but it has been on Wi-Fi since I bought it... I have never used it with a USB cable, plus it works very well with my mobile phone...

Hello,

I personally do not have a WiFi printer, but I have installed a few for relatives or friends. Each time, I had to set up the installation using one of the following 2 methods:

1 - start with a USB cable connection and while the computer and printer were communicating via cable, install the WiFi recognition settings. Then, once that was done, remove the USB cable and place the printer anywhere to continue using it in WiFi mode. In this case, the Mac communicates directly with the printer over WiFi.

2 - configure all the settings on the printer itself, on its settings screen, so that it recognizes the network where the Mac and other devices are also located. In some cases, it was possible to allow only selected devices from a list of visible devices, similar to some routers or internet connection boxes.

If the USB cable connection has never been necessary, it seems like the 2nd case was the method used, and then it may be necessary to check the settings and parameters on the printer itself (on its control screen).

Hello,
I set up the printer via Wi-Fi as soon as I bought it, and it was very easy; it worked very well until the breakdown we're talking about...
On another note, this printer model has no screen....
There is a configuration disc included with the machine, but it is not usable on Mac.

In this case, what I would personally do (since it has already helped me resolve this kind of issue) is to completely uninstall the drivers, restart the Mac, and then reinstall them from scratch.
