Pentax X90 Issues

Hello everyone,

A few days ago, I bought a second-hand Pentax X90 at a garage sale. Problem: The device won't turn on despite the battery being inserted. The seller told me that the device hadn't been used for several months, so I thought the battery must be dead. However, I only had a simple USB cable connecting the device to my computer. So I set out to find a charger for this battery (without too much difficulty). The charger (with a PATONA Li-ion 3.7V battery) was delivered to me yesterday, but it was unsuccessful, and even after fully charging both batteries, the device still won't start. The device doesn't seem to be in bad condition (the screen and lens appear undamaged, only a scratch at the bottom of the device seems to indicate its use).

Has anyone had this kind of problem with this type of device? I of course still have the option of seeing a repairman, but wouldn't that end up costing more than buying a new device? Given the condition of the device, I tend to think there might be a loose connection between the power button and the rest of the device, but I'm hesitant to take it apart. Additionally, I've done some research online and understood that lithium batteries aren't great for these devices... So perhaps it's still a battery issue?

I hope I haven't been too long-winded with all my rambling, and I thank in advance those who will take the time to respond.

Best regards.

Hi,

personally, I would never have bought the device without trying it first. Buying from a garage sale allows you to test the device.

New battery "regardless of the type of battery" if it doesn't start, there is a big issue.
