Hello,
Hello,
The more duplicates I delete, the more there are, the links and the folders. What to do? For now, I've uninstalled. But I'm going to reinstall for the 3rd or 4th time.
Thank you and see you later
Marc
Configuration: Windows 7 / Chrome 44.0.2403.157

Good evening.
Reset your browser.

PS. Frequently create a restore point! it solves a lot of problems.

Hello and thank you for the response.
So, I've done this a few times. Additionally, I uninstalled and reinstalled (completely) yesterday and before as well. The problem is still there. I've also reported it (it's been quite a while) but no answer.
Finally, I deleted all my favorites except for the bookmarks toolbar. And since then, when I want to add a bookmark, I get a large lined box, then a folder at the bottom.
https://www.dropbox.com/s/073jgsyzi0xkk19/mozilla.png?dl=0
And again, if I want to create a new folder, it doesn't get a name, or just a letter or new folder.
I'm forced to open all the bookmarks to correct it. Damn it, pffff. :-)
Marc.

But are you on Win10?
Because I see Dropbox in your picture.
You also opened an account for that Dropbox.
It takes care of your files.
Dropbox is a storage and sharing service for local file copies online offered by Dropbox, Inc., a company located in San Francisco, California 3.
That must be the problem.

I am on Windows 7 without Service Pack 1 because it was causing me problems. I reinstalled Windows 7 just a month ago. And before that, I had already been having these issues for at least 6 months.
Dropbox is not set to start at startup and I only use it once a week, maybe not even that. And I don't see the connection with Firefox. It has been my default browser for years, and I had never had these issues before.

Well, I did everything...
With difficulty, since my computer wouldn't start, I had to run 2 scandisks.
I also uninstalled Ccleaner, which I find too intrusive since its last version.
As for Dropbox, I don't understand what danger it poses. If you could explain it to me, because I subscribed to it.
Thank you.

But you say that you hardly use it.
But you could have some nasty stuff on your PC, causing the problem?
Not just in the bookmarks.
Scan your PC with ADWCleaner and Malwarebytes

I've done all that more than once.
The problem has disappeared.
But I just logged back into SYNC.
And the troubles are back.
So it’s a problem related to Sync.
Because when I disconnect, the hundreds of bookmarks and duplicates are back and persist even when disconnected.
It took me a long time to realize it.
I think I need to fix firefox for the umpteenth time.

Well, of course I know how to do it. But I don't think about it every time, and there's nothing to indicate that I'm in sync.
And it's not normal for desync to leave duplicates. I just deleted the account, but the duplicates are still there. (I had resynchronized to try. Well, I wiped everything again. Fortunately, I know how to make a backup in HTML.
Well, I think we've covered everything. I don't have much of a head for computers and very little memory. (just like my PC)
Thanks for everything unless you have another piece of advice. :-)
