deletion of bookmarks folder "recently marked" Solved

Question

Hello, I have some questions about the "Recently Bookmarked" folder in the bookmarks menu.  When I save a new bookmark, I make sure to save it immediately in the appropriate folder. However, this bookmark is also created in the "Recently Bookmarked" folder without my intervention.  Unfortunately, if I want to delete the bookmark from the "Recently Bookmarked" folder, it is also deleted from the folder where I had classified it. Moreover, I noticed that if I delete a bookmark from the "Recently Bookmarked" folder, the display still contains 10 items, as if some sort of history is causing a previously bookmarked item to be displayed in order to always show 10 bookmarks.  How can I avoid the deletion in the classification folder when I delete an item from the "Recently Bookmarked" folder?  Should I delete the folder?  I hope I was clear.  Thank you for your help. Hello,  we also have control over this recently marked section: a right-click on one of the shortcuts in the "recently marked" area and select the option "hide recently marked bookmarks" and this menu disappears.  Have a nice day!

Hello,  when you create a bookmark, it is only created once. The folders are just "catalogs" that list these bookmarks. The bookmarks are not physically contained within the folders. One should rather see the folders as an organizer, a binder, or, as mentioned earlier, a catalog. Therefore, multiple directories can index the same bookmark. But since the bookmark only exists in a single copy (listed by one or more categories), deleting it from one directory removes it everywhere.  The "recently marked" directory lists the most recently created bookmarks. It is not a directory that you have control over. It "acts" automatically. But I think you can delete it. Normally, the bookmarks it contains will remain in the other directories because you are deleting the directory and not its content. After all, it depends on how the browser interprets it... Just make sure to save your bookmarks first, just in case...  -- Help yourself, and heaven will help you...

Hello,  For information, if it can help someone, to delete the "Recently Bookmarked" folder, just set the option: "browser.bookmarks.showRecentlyBookmarked" to false in the Firefox configuration editor. You just need to double-click on the option to change the value column to false.  To do this, you need to open the about:config page.  In the address bar, type about:config, then press Enter.  The warning page "Proceed with caution!" should appear. Click on "I accept the risk" to access the "about:config" page. Hello,  You could have right-clicked on Recently Bookmarked and then clicked on Hide Recent Bookmarks, it was easier than fiddling around in about:config.   ;)       Best regards The courage of the drop of water is that it dares to fall into the desert.
