How to limit the appearance of friends' posts in the news feed?

Hello,

I would like to know how to avoid appearing in my friends' news feeds every time I "like" something or comment on a page I like?

You see what I mean? I'm not always clear (obviously, since I'm Cassandre, keep up a bit!). Anyway, can you tell me if it's possible to remove that?

Liking a page is one thing, but having my friends see my inevitably smart comment on a post or just the fact that I like a photo is just as annoying for them (who probably don't care) as it is for me (who has to explain why I like a pin-up photo, and no aunt, I'm not a lesbian, and yes mom, it's a silly joke to like a photoshopped picture of a Nazi as a disco queen doing a Nazi salute, etc.)

I know well it's a social network (public) and moreover, that it's Facebook, but can we limit that?

Thank you in advance for your answers!

Configuration: Windows / Firefox 40.0

you need to dig into the privacy settings or something like that; I think there are possible adjustments.

Indeed, I looked and nothing is really clear.

Well, you have to put everything in the personal except your wall if you want it to work, in my opinion.

Yes, well, I don't want to limit everything on my account either, just those 'likes' that don't concern my friends.

Well, there is nothing specific in my opinion, and leaving only their wall visible does not limit their account.

Hello

You can't.

It's part of the basic concepts of Facebook... Likes and comments are part of public data...

Seriously? It doesn't make me want to post a comment on a "free" photo montage... (Referring to my homophobic aunt or my "literal" mom)

Thanks anyway, even though I'm not much further along ^^

Well yes, since the beginning...

And the more the years go by, the more the methods to bypass this functionality are being removed one by one...

Having privacy on Facebook is a mirage...

Well before, no one saw my "likes" in their news feed. Apparently, this is relatively recent (at least for me). But as you said, the features to prevent this have been removed.

Well, before, nobody saw my "likes" in their news feed.

because you had set your privacy settings so that friends couldn't see your likes... before we could choose who saw what...

now people subscribe or not to your activities... and by subscribing they see everything...

;)

As much as I know about software, social networks are a great mystery to me. ^^

Well, I think I found the solution (for likes, but I believe comments are still visible).

In your timeline, you have a "More" tab (at the end of the timeline, about, friends, photos, etc.) At that point, you have "likes" in the dropdown menu. You need to click on it and then manage and modify the privacy. At that point, just choose "only me" or restrict who can see these likes in the news feed according to your preferences.

but that's the likes of the pages, not the likes of the posts...

Well, I don't know because on another profile, even though I'm subscribed, I can no longer see the "likes" on a photo or anything else... But I can see comments.

Here’s something strange... I’ll give it a try...

If I understand what is written there, it should be fine. (When your friend clicks on your profile, they can still see the movies you've watched, the musicians/shows/pages you've liked, etc., but it doesn't seem to appear on their timeline anymore... normally).

yes the pages that you like...
not the posts...

but if a friend posts new photos on their wall... and you like those photos... and as long as they have set their post to "friends and their friends," all your friends will see that you liked and/or commented on their post...
