How to exceed 5000 friends on Facebook

Hello,
I read in early March 2009 that Facebook now allowed you to exceed 5000 friends.
I manage the official account of a show and we have 5000 friends since yesterday, but it is impossible to add more.
It seems that a special account ("pro" or "fan") needs to be created; does anyone know how that works?
Is it paid? Is it possible to keep the content and the members of the existing profile?
I'm not talking about a fan page, but a profile with more than 5000 members.

Hello, the limit is 5000 friends because this is a personal account.
Facebook therefore recommends that you create a fan page that has an unlimited number of fans.
It's like a personal page but specialized for businesses.
You can create it while logged out on the homepage.
