Hello,

I need information regarding the installation of Windows 10 on Windows 7;
I have a link provided by Microsoft, I click on it and the download goes well, but when I run it, a message appears stating that a problem occurred, "0X80072EFD-0X20000".
I called Microsoft and after a good half-hour of waiting, they gave me some explanations and made me do a lot of manipulations, spending an hour on the phone, but I still have the same problem. What should I do?
If you can help me, I would be very grateful.
Best regards.

Configuration: Windows 7 / Firefox 39.0

    Hello,

    after some research online, this issue unfortunately does not have a solution yet. However, it might be possible to work around it by creating a new session, which could involve losing the existing one during the migration (I am not certain about this).

    If you want to try:
    • First, back up your data to an external drive.
    • Go to the Control Panel > Add or remove user accounts > Create a new account > check Administrator > Create an account
    • Log in to this account
    • Start the update using Microsoft's utility (click here)

    Normally the update should proceed; be careful, I repeat that I have no guarantee that the previous session with all the data and programs installed on it will be preserved!!
