Hello,
I have two cameras connected to a NVR with built-in POE injection.
I have two RJ45 cables, the first tested with a tester shows that cables 1 to 6 + G are working. This cable works on the recorder.
The second category 5E cable is newly purchased, tested with the tester, wires 1 to 6 work but not the G, this cable does not work on the recorder (no data passing).
What does the "G" mean on the tester?
Why does the newly purchased cable, tested with the tester, not show the "G"?
Shouldn't an RJ45 cable allow the display of all 8 wires on the tester?
Thank you in advance :-)
Edit: I made you a video to better understand what's strange about the tester http://we.tl/6m0QMJMXnP

Do you think my tester might be faulty then?
How come the brand new cable (cat 5E) doesn't work while the other cable (cat 6) does?
it shouldn't change anything, at least if the distance isn't too great, 40 to 50m max, but it varies greatly depending on the consumption of the connected devices.
I'll change tester then, thank you for your feedback :-)
