Laptop stuck on Shutting down

Hello everyone!
I have a little problem with my laptop which is running Windows 8
I indeed turned off the computer (normally), and closed the laptop... So far, so good, except that I just picked it up again, and when I open it, it says "Shutting down" with loading, and this has been going on for more than an hour now... I force shut it down using the button, close it again, but nothing works...

Can you help me? Thanks in advance!

Good evening, unplug the PC, remove the battery, hold the power button for 30 seconds, plug the PC back in without the battery, and it should normally restart the machine ^^

Thank you! Removing the battery requires tools, I will take care of it tomorrow!
Was this bug caused by a lack of battery at the time of shutdown, or by a heavy forced sleep (by mistake) when closing the screen during shutdown?

Tools to remove the battery? It's just clips theoretically.

The laptop shouldn't be stuck on "shutting down".
Due to lack of battery, it will turn off, but when plugged into the mains, it restarts; I was disconnected in the middle of a game, and once plugged in, the laptop restarted the game by itself.
What is the brand of your laptop????

Yeah, just a screwdriver, you know x)

Okay :)

It's an Asus running Windows 8.

It's strange at Asus to attach a battery with screws ^^
When you can, try my method to see if it works or if it's really Windows being temperamental.
