Hello,
I'm on Windows 8 with a Samsung. Not really good with computers.
I don't understand why, but since today, for no reason or special change, I've noticed that I can no longer type the at symbol on my keyboard using the Alt Gr key as usual.
Then, after searching for answers online (unsuccessfully), I realized that this famous key no longer allows me to type any special character.
Can you give me a tip to get my keyboard back to "normal" please? I'm lost!!!
Thank you so much!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

hello
I'm copying and pasting the solution from Jos T. I've applied it and it works.
The problem comes from a driver update for the Synaptics PS/2 Port TouchPad in June 2015 that disabled the "Alt Gr" key.
Simply uninstall the Synaptics driver through the "Device Manager" (Control Panel->Device Manager->Mice and other pointing devices) and reinstall it via the Device Manager or Windows Update.
Restart the PC and everything should work.
Just a little note: make sure to check "delete the driver" during uninstallation.

It worked Claude Ray!! You saved me!!!!!!!!!
What a pleasure to see that despite the cruelty we read about in the newspapers every day, there are people who help others, selflessly!!!!!!!
I am thrilled!! Thank you again and may your journey be wonderful!!!! :-)
Claire.
Can you please explain to me how to do it?
