Hello,
I just picked up a FreeBox Révolution V6 in version 3.1 from a dumpster. It seems to be working correctly since I can access its web interface. So today I have 2 V6 freeboxes. I would like to use this 2nd FreeBox as a network storage server.
I changed its original IP address to 192.168.1.253 to avoid conflict with the other FreeBox which is 192.168.1.254. I also modified the hostname, netbios name, and other names to "FreeboxNas".
However, when both freeboxes are connected together on the same network, I can no longer access this 2nd freebox.
What are the possible solutions?
How to configure the network to take advantage of the NAS?
Where can we install a Linux distribution to replace the original firmware?

can you ping both connected freeboxes?
Don't forget to disable the DHCP on the second one...

Yes, I have indeed disabled the DHCP. However, I can ping the FB1 (192.168.1.253) but not the FB2 (192.168.253), even though it seems to have worked at the beginning since I was able to open both web interfaces.

Uh... Excuse me, I got a bit mixed up with the cables on my switch... The answer is yes, I can ping both Freebox servers. However, when I access the web interface of FB2 (192.168.1.253), I get this message:
"Your Freebox Server is currently not connected to the Internet.
You can find more precise information regarding the status of your connection by following this link: http://mafreebox.freebox.fr/"
The problem is that the URL http://mafreebox.freebox.fr/ is the same for both Freeboxes.
What should I do? -
Well, if I type \\192.168.1.253 I can see the hard drive of the FB2! Great! Except that as soon as I try to write something, I get the message "You need permission to perform this action."
I tried reconnecting the FB2 directly to the PC, but I can no longer access the web interface. I still get the message: "Your Freebox Server is currently not connected to the Internet.
