Hello,

In a sheet, I would like to group columns A and B, then columns C and D distinctly. However, when I create these two groups, Excel automatically creates a single group from A to D.
For your information, I cannot (and do not want to) create an empty column between the 2 groups. I also do not want to create a subgroup with additional levels.

To summarize, I want 2 simple groups side by side.

Thank you in advance for your help.

Good evening,

In two steps, insert a blank column between column B and C which will become C, and in the first cell C1 write =A1+B1 and increment downwards
select your range new column C and right-click on the selection/Copy/ still on the column C range right-click special paste/Values
Delete columns A and B

repeat the process for those who were in column C and D which should have moved to B and C
