I'm having the same problem, I don't understand the question.

But still, try this.

In a cell... right-click... insert a comment.

Type a name.

You can set this comment so that it is always visible on your sheet

or visible when you hover the mouse over it.

There you go, I hope that answered your question.

Just select the relevant columns, whether they are grouped or to be grouped or even ungrouped, and do Insert/Name/Define

You know when you group columns, a + appears to "open" the group... And I think it would have been super handy to be able to name this group by putting a name next to the +...

Otherwise, I can’t seem to do what Raymond PENTIER prescribed "Insert/Name/Define," which version of Excel does that exist in?
