Hello,
I am using an application that allows me to communicate with a USB device and retrieve data from it. For this, I need the port number that the device is connected to. The problem is that I don’t see the COM and LPT tab at all in my device manager. However, several suggestions have been made online: updating the BIOS, etc. Unfortunately, I have not been able to solve my problem. Even when I access the properties of my device, I get its location as "Port_#0002.Hub_#0001". This location is not recognized as a port by my application. My question is:
how can I display the COM and LPT tab in Windows 7? Thank you in advance.

Configuration: Windows 7 / Firefox 38.0

    Hi.

What kind of PC is it? A desktop or a laptop?
    What brand and model?

If there are physical COM (serial) or LPT (parallel) ports on the computer and they don’t appear in the Windows 7 Device Manager, it means they are disabled in the BIOS.

    You need to:
    1- Boot into the BIOS
2- Look for the COM and LPT ports and enable them.
    3- Configure them

    See you later!
