Windows Media Player 11: album cover Solved

Hello,

I have a little problem with Windows Media Player 11. For some time now, I’ve been completing the data for songs and albums to have the most complete library possible. The problem lies with the albums. Indeed, we can copy/paste an image into the available space for the album. For example, for Linkin Park's album Hybrid Theory, I choose the image, copy/paste it into WMP. The problem is that once this is done, the Hybrid Theory image appears in several other unrelated albums! And it’s always the same ones. It seems like they are "linked" together. If I change the photo of another album, that of the others and thus Hybrid Theory will change too; it’s very annoying...

Has anyone else had this problem, and if so, how can it be resolved?

Here is the solution:
1 - Create a folder with the name of the artist or album in your "My Music" directory
2 - Save the image you want to attach in this directory
3 - In WMP 11, right-click on the song, then select "Open file location"
4 - Move the file to the folder you just created
5 - Go back to WMP 11 (the image has disappeared), right-click and select "Advanced Tag Editor"
6 - Go to the "Image" tab, click add and select the image you copied to the folder (see 2)
You're done

Maybe it's the same album? In that case, you might try to modify the song information?   Otherwise, how do you copy/paste? Have you tried the "DRAG" method??

No, they are not the same albums. For example, the image of Linkin Park goes with Konvicted by Akon or Stadium Arcadium by the Red Hot Chili Peppers.

To copy and paste, I go on Google, right-click on the album image, go to WMP in the album box, right-click paste, just a simple copy and paste.

I just tried dragging and it does the same thing.

It's okay, I found it. In fact, when there are Unknown Artists left at the bottom of the library, this happens.

If we fix all the names and there are no more Unknown Artists, this problem doesn’t occur ;)

I have the same problem but I removed the "Unknown Artists" and I still have it. I noticed that it was all the music with DRM that causes this little bug. How to solve this problem?

To see the album covers that are stored in the same folder as the songs, you need to go to the folder, then click on:
<Tools> <Folder Options> <View>,
and uncheck the box:
Hide protected operating system files.
Now you can delete the wrong image.

It's really very simple, save the image to your desktop. Then, in the WMPlayer playlist, drag the image to the desired location.

I have the same problem with W7 and Windows Media 12. In fact, the library organizes itself in a certain way:
when you add an image to an album, it automatically creates 2 or 3 hidden files in the album's directory, one of which is a thumbnail representation of the illustration: "album art No. xxxxx xxxxx xxxxx xxxxx". This is the file that is displayed in the library and not the original, which is important for what comes next because while rummaging through the PC, I noticed that the albums that display correctly have a distinct number, while those that are problematic have the same: "Album art No. 0000 00000 0000 00000".
Problem identified but not yet solved..... we need to know why the player suddenly no longer assigns the numbers correctly.

Just a little update, what Dominik said is very true, but it still doesn't provide a solution to the problem.
If anyone knew how to fix this flaw, it would be nice to enlighten us, because it's really annoying when you spend several hours organizing your library and all the covers end up being the same for no apparent reason!

Lol I just found out it's silly, you move the image you want to the album art folder in WMP and there you go, to remove an album cover image you check the hidden files option and in WMP you right-click on your song and choose to open the file location. Once inside, you delete the hidden image :)

Hello .. Regarding the album cover maintenance.

1- Go fetch the album image on YouTube for example ... Without opening the video ..

2- Place this image in your library/images.

3- Right-click "rename" it to the album title. (to find it more easily).

4- Then, either drag it onto your Windows Media album image or copy and paste it.

5- Next, I would advise you .. in your library/images to create a folder "Album Covers. Windows Media".

This way Windows Media won’t mix up the random images since it knows where they are stored ...
