Hello
I'm in favor of the bad connection inside, or simply replacing the RAM with a RAM that doesn't work anymore (that can happen)
finally, I'm against destroying the equipment as well, so I’m adding my veto even if it doesn’t mean anything.

@++ oh no..., it’s ©++, sorry
I feel great! (and the apricot)

Hello magiloute
_Exchange the PC BIOS
_Flash the BIOS with an incompatible version
_Burn out the power supply (110v-220v switch)
_OverClock

Hi,
Instead of tearing everything apart, try to reason with your boss by suggesting the idea of participating in a charitable work:
recycling materials, donating equipment, and helping each other
What do you think?

JP : Zen, my Nuggets ! ;-) Knowledge is only valuable when shared.
I have several solutions to propose to you:
- Block the fan with a toothpick, for example.
- Place a magnet on the motherboard.
- Drop the towers by bringing them to the repair service.
- Spill your coffee on the tower.
...
With that, if you can't get rid of it!! XD

I know, but I can neither retrieve these PCs nor give them away or sell them, and when they have a problem, they go to a repair service. So if the PC is recoverable, it will inevitably come back to my service... thank you anyway for trying to save these poor little PCs.
Hello,
it would be a shame to destroy machines!
Just unplug the power supply from the drive, or misconfigure the BIOS settings; they will seem dead, but are still recoverable.
Best regards.

Hello Magiloute
The best way to get fired.... is to damage the equipment....
But the unemployment office certainly has more recent computers to use for job searching
Well, with the recommendation letter from the previous boss...
Stop your fantasy....

It's nice of you to care about my professional future, but the question isn't whether I'm taking risks or not; that's my problem. But thank you anyway!
Honestly, what you're saying is really selfish; it could be that your employer doesn't want to get rid of them for the reasons that Nils mentioned!
Maybe you want the cutting edge of technology because you can afford it, but others would dream of having even a PC that takes up an entire room as long as it works...
Thank you for the others!
For Max: It's completely stupid to dream of that ==> "Burning out a PC"... This shows the intelligence of some people!

There are several confusions in your post:
*MAN ==> not me
*CALM ==> who told you I was upset ??
*SOLUTIONS ==> why ignore the most relevant ones in this case ??
*JUDGE ==> it’s not a judgment but an observation
*HUMOR ==> I don’t see where it is sorry :-s
And don’t judge me by saying that it’s not in the bag for me because you might win something else... I’ll let your imagination run wild ^^
Anyway, I am not in a position to impose anything on him but when useful solutions for everyone exist, why opt for those that only relieve us personally ??
No hard feelings Max, don’t be upset because I don’t like your dream :-D

Hey, but have you ever thought about a little pirate who...
steals all your files, sends you viruses
and then, miracle, you have his IP address, you have the commands for his computer and your dream is to blow up his equipment
Honestly, if I were a pirate and that happened to me, I would stop right away
I can also bring useful solutions ^^

LooL still, to blow up his equipment is going a bit far!!
I'll get my own back on him, sure, but in a reasonable way: making his computer crash regularly so he struggles for a while! But equipment isn't cheap, so it's a bit mean to destroy it "for free" <=== in quotes because our gesture is free but the services associated with its actual destruction are extremely costly both in monetary value and in natural value!!

I love this discussion where everyone writes down their dreams. Who hasn't ever dreamed of grilling a PC?
Basically, Magiloute, you’re looking for an [irreversible] method to make a computer unusable.
Most internet users provide you with tips to make it definitely out of service.
That’s what I find mind-blowing! <8>, <15>, <17>.
===> WASTE + POLLUTION (!)
Then, you have tips to make them temporarily unusable. <2> and <16>.
Quote: and when they have a problem they go to a repair service.
Solution ==> <5>
Finally, you have Jipicy's solutions.
I’m not going to repeat everything said above, otherwise I’ll just be paraphrasing.
<1>, <7>.
===> THESE ARE THE RIGHT METHODS

Here, an additional link (Sebsauvage.net):
Reducing the digital divide: it's possible
It's all profit:
* Volunteers collect old computers (donated to the association) and restore them.
* This allows many people, schools, and others to finally access computers (free of charge).
* Additionally, it reduces pollution since used computers don't end up in the garbage.
* These computers are equipped with Linux and open-source software so that it costs nothing.

Thank you for this support. I would like to clarify once again that I have no choice; this equipment cannot be given or sold to anyone as it is specific to my profession and the "company" I work for. I would like to recover it for my home and set up networks of heterogeneous systems, test security strategies, or other things... but I can't!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! They take up space and are a pain in the ass! That's it! I didn't think so many people would respond to this post, and I didn't know there was some kind of environmental sensitivity in this type of forum; it's surprising and pleasant... thank you all!
Hello!
I want to make it clear once again that I have no choice
It's a shame, they could have been useful to others...
it's specific to my profession and the "company" I work for
Did you explain to your boss about the recycling of equipment, donating materials, and mutual aid?
You're installing Linux, it costs €0, and it's all profit! ;-)
What are your "Boss's" reasons for his categorical refusal?
that there was a kind of ecological sensitivity in this type of forum
Not just ecological.
We also expressed the fact that these computers that you no longer use cannot be useful to someone else. :-(
Among others, schools, associations, poor countries, etc.
Good afternoon everyone!

It's really foolish to "waste" machines that could be recycled for schools in France or Africa, for example..................
But when faced with the obscurantism of some, there's nothing to be done
A super quick solution (but dishonest, I know) is the "lighter" technique
What is it??
You take a piezo lighter, extend the central wire, and run this wire over the motherboard while pressing the button.
No trace of "violence" and it's fried forever.
This is even contrary to the spirit of the site, which is there to help

Not Dishonest against Stingy... And still, we don’t even know what drives this gentleman to keep these PCs, so... There you go! :-)

Put some free solutions on top of it and educate your boss ;-))
Recycle them into a firewall, intranet server, etc... all based on GNU/Linux...

I would say to overclock it and bam, the processor blows or the motherboard fries, or if you plug the USB ports wrong there's a risk of the motherboard exploding ^^ (I know it has already happened).
Yeah, a class, go ahead and explain to us what you're risking when you break into a business and steal a bunch of computers. The best part is you get caught, you win a spot in the newspaper with your name, and maybe even 30 seconds on the news.
Are you joking?? Even if it’s not high-value equipment, it still belongs to a company! If you steal it knowing that the boss seems particularly attached to it, do you really think you deserve a headline in the newspaper??
