Hello everyone,

I received my new box Or..... (they exchanged it for free) so I installed everything, it works but I noticed it gets quite hot (not burning), I wanted to know if it's normal for it to heat up like that?

It’s sitting on a wooden furniture and I've noticed that the wood is also warm... Since I'm not at home, I decided to unplug it to be more at ease.

I thought that when I am home I would leave it plugged in and when I go out I would unplug it, so my question is, if I unplug it too often, will it risk not working properly anymore?

Or simply, can I leave it plugged in but turn it off with the switch of the box when I’m away?

Thank you in advance for your replies.

Lily

Hello,
the fact that the box is warm is completely normal. Unplugging it very often (or pressing the switch, which is enough) is not necessarily a good idea, even if it's just a rental.
I unplug mine once a month and it doesn't cause any issues.

Hello JSmithj,

Thank you for your reply, I feel more at ease that it's normal. Well, I will leave it plugged in. To reduce the heat on the wood, I think I will put either a cloth or a coaster under the Livebox, that would help the wooden cabinet heat up less.

It's not very serious that the wood is heating up ^^
It just needs to not be in a corner so it can ventilate. If you're not using the wifi, you can turn it off, it might already heat up a little less... ;-)

The wifi is disabled ;) No, it’s not placed in a corner, it’s on the wooden piece of furniture ^^ next to the TV but it’s airy (I don’t have much space to put it elsewhere lol). Thanks again JSmithJ ;)
