Distorted sound

Hello,
I bought a new vinyl, and the sound is distorted (slower with a deep voice for the singer).
After testing it with the other vinyl records I own, this is the only one that has a problem.
Is there anything special I should do knowing that I've already tried to readjust the counterweight on the turntable? Or is it simply an issue with the vinyl itself?
Thank you for your response.

Hi Vicky, your vinyl must be a 7-inch single...
Just set the 33/45 selector on your turntable to 45 to play it.

It's a 33 RPM record. I changed the belt just in case, but the music is playing way too fast. The version of the vinyl is an EP version... does that affect the problem?
Thank you very much for your thoughts.

EP stands for Extended Play, on 45 RPM... check here: http://www.vinylmaniaque.com/repertoire6/formats-vinyles.html
If this is your only vinyl that is too slow at 33 RPM and too fast at 45 RPM, then it’s the record itself that’s the issue.
Try discussing this with the record store where you bought it.
