Hello,
One of my contacts appears twice in my SMS message list, even though the messages were sent from the same phone number.
If I send a text from the latest entry, I can receive the reply on the other.
Could you tell me how to avoid this? And how can I merge all the messages so that their reading is chronological again?
Thank you for your help!

Hi, it's already impossible to merge 2 message threads.
Your contact also has an iPhone (I’m sure of it), what happened is that one of the message threads is linked to the contact's phone number and the other message thread is linked to the email address of the contact's Apple account.
This happens if either of you had a problem with the network provider or possibly a change of provider.
To find out if the message thread is linked to the phone number or the address, you need to open the message thread, tap on Edit, then tap on the i in the top right corner, the iPhone will display the contact's card and will highlight in blue the number or address corresponding to the thread.
As I wrote to you, we cannot merge the threads, so either you keep both threads or you delete one.-
Thank you very much for this response. Indeed, my contact has an iPhone, and following your explanations, one of the entries comes from their phone number, the other from their email. Probably when this person uses their iPad to send me a message. So that's the explanation.
It's a shame we can't merge the two!
