Mandatory internet connection for ps4

Hello,
do you necessarily need internet to enjoy a PS4 because I want to buy one but I don't have an internet connection and I just want to play offline

Configuration: Windows 7 / Chrome 40.0.2214.111

    Basically, it's not mandatory, is it, only for online games.

    However, you won't be able to update the console regularly and you'll miss out on new features, which is a shame.

    At worst, it seems to me that it's doable via a USB key if you download the update at someone else's place.

      I have the Xbox One. I play without being connected to the internet. For the first setup, you need the internet for the update and to set it to offline. The PS4 is the same.
