I have a 40 GB hard drive that I had partitioned into C (20 GB) and D (20 GB). I now want to put everything back on C. How can I do that, could you help me please

Why merge?
The day your system stumbles, you can just format C:\ and reinstall Windows
Everything on D:\ will be safe and you can format/reinstall knowing that your personal data is safe on D:

PS: it's better to have two partitions in case the system crashes!
