Hello,
I am experiencing a problem when I start my laptop (it's an HP with Windows 7). When I open the computer, it starts up and then when the welcome screen should normally appear, the screen goes black and an error message pops up. The message says: "Failed to initialize the interactive logon. Please see the event log for more details." Then if I click ok, the message disappears and reappears right away. I really don't know how to fix this issue, and I also don't know how to access the "event log" as the message mentions. Please, if someone could help me, I would really appreciate it.
Thanks in advance :)

Hello.
It seems that a failed update is the issue.
The PC should be restored to an earlier date.
Since it won't start, we can try the Windows repair tool.
To do this:
Start and immediately tap the escape key.
Look for the repair tool by selecting system recovery or something similar.
Find system restore and then restore the PC to an earlier date.

Thank you for this solution, it worked well on my HP ProBook 4230s.
