My Thomson Lyra PDP 2444 and its SD card

I have a big problem with my Thomson Lyra PDP 2444 MP3 player.

It works perfectly as long as I don't have an SD card. I don't even need the MusicMatch software to load tracks onto it.
But with 64 MB, I can't get very far, which is why I purchased a 2 GB SD card.

The first time I inserted my SD card, everything went (almost) smoothly: the tracks were loaded onto the player on one hand and onto the card on the other (the card being in the player). I had previously tried loading the tracks directly onto the card, but the player didn't recognize them. The first strange thing: only 1 GB could be loaded even though I should be able to put 2 GB on it. However, during direct loading, the card can actually accept 2 GB. Could this be an issue with my player?

Anyway.

I have encountered some more troublesome issues since then: my SD card, which had only been loaded with 1 GB, worked perfectly in my Thomson until the day I could no longer turn it on.

By manipulating it several times, I realized that it no longer recognized my memory card:
- once inserted, it's impossible to turn on the device: the only solution is to remove the card.
- once turned on, it’s impossible to insert the card (the SD icon appears, but nothing works, and turning off the player brings us back to the first case).

Same problem when the player is connected to the computer:
- if the card is inserted after turning on the player but before connecting the USB cable, the SD space is not available
- if the card is inserted after turning on the player and after connecting the USB, everything freezes!

I can't seem to find a solution for
1. loading my tracks onto my SD card
2. getting my player to access these tracks.

If anyone has a solution other than buying another player, it would be really appreciated.
