Keyboard issue with volume and lighting keys

Good evening everyone, since this morning I can't increase or decrease the volume of my laptop and also the key for the lighting of my screen.. when I press F7 a message tells me: do you want to enable keyboard navigation? ....I don't understand
if someone can help me please I thank you (under Windows 8.1) brand compaq

Hello, don't you have an FN key that can change the function keys' property?

It's all good, you just need to press F4, then (computer screen only) and everything will fall into place...
