Epson 215 new cartridges not recognized!

Hello
I just changed the ink cartridges on my Epson 215 without any issues except that:
the orange light stays on and a red cross appears on each replaced cartridge when I go to the utility. The software is asking me to replace the cartridges with new ones. They are Epson cartridges (which I don't think highly of anyway!!)

I want to clarify that I heard the click with each change.

    Hello,

    I know what it's like and like you, I’ve tried everything (see the comments on the same topic that I posted). In desperation, I searched on YouTube (today, February 17, 2015) and I tried a really simple thing. Look at the chip on the cartridge; there's a white dot in the middle. Take something hard and dry (like a toothpick) and gently rub that white dot and give it a try!!! It worked for me.

      I should mention that I have also had an Epson SX 215 for a while now and I have always used EPSON cartridges ;-)
