Hello,

when I try to insert an ActiveX button in a spreadsheet, I get the error message "Unable to insert an object." Is it because my Excel is misconfigured or am I forgetting something?
When I want to insert a form button, there's no problem, but I can't seem to visualize its properties to, for example, change its color (Backcolor).
Thank you for your help.
Configuration: Windows XP / Firefox 34.0

Hello,

This is most likely a bug due to the disastrous latest update of Office.
https://codes-sources.commentcamarche.net/forum/affich-10040792-important-bug-mise-a-jour-office-9-decembre-2014

Therefore, it is necessary to uninstall this update in the computer's configuration settings...

Thank you Pikachu,

I was able to uninstall the update KB2596927 and regain the ability to insert an ActiveX control in an Excel 2007 spreadsheet.

Thank you all, and I must admit that I am very, very surprised that Microsoft hasn't fixed this since December 9th, it's quite shameful!!!!

Yes. It's already quite shameful to have "created" this bug, but even more so to do nothing about it...

By the way, don't forget to disable automatic updates, otherwise it will happen again soon...

Have a nice day
