Paste without formatting automatically

Hello,

I am using Mac Word 2011.

I am desperately looking for a way to paste text without formatting automatically using just a keyboard shortcut, without having to do any other manipulations.

I don't believe there is a native method for this, but I am wondering if there might be a utility, a script (in Visual Basic for example, although I don't master VB), or a macro or something that allows me to paste without formatting automatically. Just the text.

Reformatting text after pasting is clearly and by far the action that takes me the most time in Word. If I could automate this, it would be a significant time saver.

So, it's not a big deal, but having used this software for years, it has become a bit tedious over time.

Configuration: Mac OS X Mountain Lion (10.8) / Firefox 34.0

Hello.

You have been using Word for years, doing countless copy-pastes, and you've never noticed that each time you paste a pictogram appears with the Paste icon and the shortcut (ctrl)?
You just need to select it and choose

to keep only the text!

Hello,  Try by pressing Ctrl + Shift + V and click on "unformatted test"  -- Don't forget to mark your topic as resolved once you have the answer to your question.

To complement Raymond's answer, since it's a Mac, it's Command instead of Ctrl.

No, no, m@rina, it is not "excessive" to want to automate pasting without formatting when you have to do it several dozen times a day sometimes.

"youki youkaida", I completely understand your problem as I experienced it daily until I decided to create a small macro, including on PowerPoint, about fifteen years ago, before the arrival of Word 2010 (I am on PC), which allows adding the "Paste and keep only text" tool but also to set the default paste format between documents and within the same document.

If Word 2011 does not have this option or does not offer this tool in the ribbon customization, then check the following pages for Word 2008, which should be adaptable to 2011.

You will find a very small macro (actually very similar to the one I used on PC) to which you can assign a keyboard shortcut.
