Sound with annoying echo. Solved

Hello

I have a little sound problem but I don't know how to solve it.

The sound I have has a kind of echo, not that the sound repeats twice but it prolongs..! Hard to describe, but we can still call it echo. To illustrate, it's like when you speak in a church: the sound doesn't repeat but you hear it after you've spoken. Do you understand?! Well done then!

I've tried adjusting in the Sound menu but there's almost nothing..

Hello,
I just had the same resonance problem. You need to go to Control Panel, then change system sounds, then go to speaker properties, click on the enhancements tab and check the environment mode. If "stone house" is checked, we have church sound; if forest, city, or living room is checked, we have sound without resonance...

Hi.

Click on the logo at the bottom left (formerly start). Just above, you have a "search" field. Type "gest" without validating anything. At the top of the window, click on device manager.

Click on the small plus in front of "audio and video controller" and tell me what you see.

I don't know if it's up to date.. when I try to update the driver, it takes too long for my 56k to find the driver online. Do you think that could be the issue?

Hello.. I downloaded an audio file from a site.... it's a conference that was recorded very poorly... there is a huge echo when playing the file... just to be clear, I specify that I have no sound issues coming from my PC or my players... it’s just a conference that was recorded in a room that had a huge echo..... I am a complete beginner...... does anyone have a solution for me to process the sound of my file (mp3) to eliminate this echo so that I can listen to it without discomfort and then burn it...... I downloaded the software Audacity, but apparently this software allows you to add echo to audio files and not reduce it.. it’s driving me crazy! I’m about to destroy my PC!!!!!!! Help!!! With most sound cards, there is software installed that allows for various adjustments (see start menu).

Well, just look in there to see if you have something like that selected!

And if you're using Windows Media Player, check if you have the SRS WOW effects enabled.
Also, take a look at the graphic equalizer ;)

Thank you Marjorie for worrying about my problem... but like the others, you misunderstood my issue... I don't have the "stone house" mode checked... my PC is very well set up to listen to all my audio files... what's happening is that I downloaded an mp3 file from a site... it's a conference that was recorded with a tape recorder in a room where there was a lot of resonance... the problem comes from the source... my question is... is there any software that can eliminate resonance in audio files??? sincere thanks..... For my case, I unchecked all the Dolby surround options like the stereo enhancer in the Realtek audio manager to get a clearer sound... Indeed, I removed all the echo effects or anything unnecessary.
That said, I think a good microphone filter is all that really matters in the end!
