Hard drive not booting: no boot disk has been detected...

Hello,
My problem is apparently quite common, I get the following message at startup:
no boot disk has been detected or the disk has failed
And my PC does not turn on. While browsing various forums, I read about a SMART test that can be run from the BIOS. I managed to get to a screen that is supposed to be the BIOS by pressing F10, according to my PC's brand (HP), but I can't find any command line to type what is needed to access the SMART test (I am not in front of the PC in question while writing this and I will add more details, especially regarding this screen).
However, I have access to an HP test (F2) which confirms that there is a disk issue (edit + later for details).
Do you think my hard drive is recoverable? How can I try to recover my data if not? And where to go in the BIOS to perform the SMART test?
Thank you in advance!

hello
you need to be in front of the screen to really say what's going on
either the hard drive is not recognized by the system, but recognized (or not) in the BIOS
or the boot file is faulty but the disk itself doesn't have any issues
or the hard drive is dead.. or about to fail
you first need to go into the BIOS to see (disk named by its reference)
then go to disk management to check if the disk is recognized by the system (present and letter assigned)
