Connecting a Home Theater System via HDMI ARC
Solved/Closed
Hello everyone,
I installed my brand new 5.1 home theater system today, a Panasonic SC-BTT405. I set it up correctly with my Thomson TV (which I also bought recently) using HDMI ARC (and yes, my TV's HDMI output is indeed ARC).
I followed the instructions in the Home Theater manual (Home Theater Settings > TV Output > HDMI ARC), but the TV sound does not come through the Home Theater system.
Could this be because I’m watching TV channels not directly through my television, but through my Orange TV box (which is also connected to my TV via HDMI)?
Or could it be that the HDMI cable is not ARC compatible? The only info I have on my cable is that it supports Ethernet (it says so on it) and that it’s a cable provided by Orange.
Or could it be a completely different problem?
Thanks in advance for your responses.

Good evening,
Sometimes these damn ARC connections don't work, to help you out:
Your TV has a scart connector,
Plug in this type of adapter:

Then connect red and white RCA cables between the adapter and the home cinema.
Be careful, the switch on the adapter must be set to "out"

If your TV has an optical audio output, it would be better than RCA, so an optical cable is necessary since your home cinema has an optical input.
Have a good Sunday and come back to give news.
Thank you for everything.
